Elon Musk Initiates a Radical Shift: Twitter Rebranded as X, What’s Changing?
Elon Musk has announced his plans to change Twitter’s logo from the famous blue bird symbol to “X” since he purchased the social media platform for $44 billion last year. He tweeted: “And soon, we will bid farewell to the Twitter brand and all the birds slowly.”
Musk shared an animated “X” image and later confirmed during a Twitter Spaces audio chat that the Twitter logo will indeed change, stating that it “should have been done a long time ago.”

While the transition process is not yet complete, if you search for X.com on the internet, it currently redirects to Twitter.com. Once the identity change is successfully finalized, it is expected that the Twitter.com domain will disappear entirely.

Although it is known that Elon Musk has a fixation on the letter X, there is not much information available regarding the reasons behind this identity change. However, according to CEO Linda Yaccarino, X will bring several notable differences. So, what are they?
Based on Linda Yaccarino’s tweet, X will be centered around these three main points:
- Comprehensive artificial intelligence support.
- Advanced audio, video, and messaging features.
- Banking and payment infrastructure.
For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, to innovate faster, and to fulfill our great potential. X will do that and more. We’ve already started to see X take shape over the past 8 months through our rapid feature launches, but we’re just getting…

As you can anticipate, alongside the name change, Twitter’s appearance will also undergo an evolution. Elon Musk has revealed that X will feature a design primarily based on black. Furthermore, if everything goes according to the plan, Elon Musk’s other companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and Boring, will eventually unite under the X Corp. parent company.
In preparation for the major overhaul, Elon Musk has already changed his profile picture to a space-themed “X” with a black background. It appears that Musk has completely removed the name “Twitter” from his profile as well.
