With the eagerly awaited Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring set to release in less than two weeks, publisher Bandai Namco has issued an important reminder for players: you need to defeat certain bosses to access the new content.

Key Requirements to Access the DLC

• Defeat Starscourge Radahn: One of the game’s main bosses.
• Defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood: An optional but crucial boss for entering the DLC area.

In a recent interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that the entrance to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is found in the Mohg, Lord of Blood boss fight area, specifically the withered arm hanging from the cocoon.

Current statistics from Steam achievements indicate that over 62% of Elden Ring players on PC have not defeated Mohg. The numbers are similar on PlayStation and Xbox platforms, where around two-thirds of players have yet to conquer this optional boss. This isn’t surprising, considering Mohg, Lord of Blood is an optional boss that players might skip during their initial playthrough.
