Apple unveils revolutionary virtual reality goggles! All about Apple Vision Pro
Apple made a surprise announcement at WWDC 2023 with the highly anticipated mixed reality goggles. The device, considered as Apple’s new “iPhone moment,” is named Vision Pro. While being Apple’s first mixed reality device, Vision Pro comes with an entirely new operating system called visionOS and features like Spatial Audio.

Introducing Apple Vision Pro
Initially positioned as an AR device, Vision Pro can seamlessly transition between augmented and full virtual reality using a dial. The device operates without controllers, allowing users to simply look at applications to open them. Selection can be made through touch or gentle taps, and voice commands are also supported.
Spatial audio is utilized for tasks such as arranging FaceTime participants as “video tiles” around the room during remote conversations. As promised by Apple, Vision Pro ensures that users do not feel isolated from the people around them. Using a system called EyeSight, the headset tracks users’ eyes and, when in full VR mode, a glowing display hides them to indicate unavailability.

Disney+ from day one
The device employs pass-through video, which enables users to see the real world in full color. Apple claims that 3D objects can be projected into the real environment, including pulling objects from a message thread. Additionally, Disney showcased its premium content, including themed experiences for sports, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, and more, in collaboration with Apple’s Vision Pro. When the device hits the market, Disney+ will be accessible through the headset. Vision Pro also offers a cinematic video-watching experience by scaling the screen beyond the dimensions of the room. Furthermore, Vision Pro functions as “Apple’s first 3D camera” and provides depth perception through Spatial Audio in videos.
Apple emphasizes that the camera can capture special moments with added depth information and indicate when someone is recording. Vision Pro supports over 100 games from the Arcade library and can be paired with a PS5 or Xbox controller when necessary.
Vision Pro allows users to connect to their Macs and expand the screen in a virtual space, including running applications within the Vision Pro itself.

Camera and Sensors
The front of the headset features a lightweight aluminum frame with glass construction. Inside, there are five sensors, 12 cameras, a display, and a fan-cooled chip. The top of the headset includes a button and a Digital Crown. Vision Pro, designed with a modular system for optimum fit, houses audiopods on the sides. The headset’s battery is separate and magnetically attaches to the side of the headphones.
Vision Pro incorporates a microOLED Apple Silicon backplane and has two display panels with 23 million pixels in total, allowing for processing of 4K videos at full resolution. The device features a new Spatial Audio system that provides ambient sound. By utilizing sound beam tracking, Vision Pro can match audio with the environment. Equipped with a real-time sensor processing dedicated “R1” chip paired with the M2 chip, the device offers enhanced performance.
After its release, Vision Pro will be capable of running a wide range of iPhone and iPad applications through visionOS. In addition to compatible iPhone and iPad apps, users will have access to a brand-new App Store featuring apps specifically developed for visionOS. Security-wise, Vision Pro will include the Optic ID feature, which uses iris scanning to authenticate users.
What is the price of Apple Vision Pro?
Apple has announced that the price of Vision Pro is $3,499. The device will be available for sale starting early next year. Unfortunately, Vision Pro will only be sold in Apple retail stores in the United States.
