The Bitcoin whitepaper, which had been hidden within the Virtual Scanner II of MacOS operating system since 2017, was discovered and subsequently removed with the release of MacOS Ventura 13.4 Beta 3 update.

According to 9to5Mac, “This essentially confirms our original theory that both the Bitcoin promotional document and the internal tool were never intended to be found by regular users.”

It appears that Apple did not appreciate the conspiracy theories surrounding the whitepaper and chose to remove it from the latest version of MacOS. The whitepaper was found alongside other seemingly random files such as PDFs and images within a folder in the Capture application.
