Instagram Threads, a new application by Meta that competes with Twitter, has gained millions of users in a remarkably short period and is rapidly growing. Meanwhile, Twitter, under the leadership of Elon Musk, has been losing users at a fast pace, sparking debates about the platform’s future. In response to these discussions, Twitter has made a move. The company’s attorney sent a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, accusing Meta of illegally misusing Twitter’s trade secrets.

In the letter, Twitter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, threatened to sue Meta Platforms over its new Threads platform. Spiro accused Meta of hiring former Twitter employees who have “accessed and continued to access” Twitter’s trade secrets and other highly confidential information.

Spiro stated in the letter, “Twitter is fully intent on vigorously enforcing its intellectual property rights and demands immediate action by Meta to cease using any Twitter trade secret or other highly confidential information.”

In response, Meta spokesperson Andy Stone, in a Threads post, stated, “No one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee – it’s just not true.”

Meanwhile, Twitter’s owner, Musk, replied to a tweet referencing the news, saying, “Competition is good, cheating is not.”
