Xbox Game Pass Reaches 34 Million Subscribers
Microsoft has officially reported that Xbox Game Pass now has 34 million subscribers, marking a 36% increase from the last reported figure of 25 million. This update comes after a two-year gap in subscriber number disclosures.
Despite the impressive growth, Microsoft’s initial goal was to reach 100 million subscribers by 2030. However, Xbox head Phil Spencer emphasized that the objective was never to convert everyone into Game Pass subscribers.
Spencer stated in an interview, “Our goal is not to make everybody a Game Pass subscriber. I’ve said many times that maybe 10-15 percent of our content and services revenue is subscriber revenue. It’s a good business for us today, Game Pass, but in no way is there a plan that says ‘Okay, everybody needs to become a Game Pass subscriber.'”
The information about the increase in subscribers was shared on the Xbox Business Update podcast.
