Konami has announced a Silent Hill Transmission event scheduled for Thursday, May 30, at 4pm PT/7pm ET. This broadcast will feature updates on upcoming Silent Hill games, a deeper look at the forthcoming Silent Hill film, and new merchandise.

The announcement was made via the official Silent Hill Twitter account, inviting fans to tune in on the Silent Hill YouTube channel. The post teased, “Consider this your invitation letter to Silent Hill. Tune in May 30 at 4 p.m. PDT to our SILENT HILL YouTube channel for the second installment of the #SILENTHILL Transmission where we’ll share game updates, a deeper look at the film, and new merch. #SILENTHILL”

What to Expect from the Transmission

This will be the second Silent Hill Transmission, following the first on October 19, 2022. The previous event included significant announcements such as:

• Silent Hill 2 Remake by Bloober Team
• Silent Hill: Townfall, a spinoff from No Code Studios
• Silent Hill f, a narrative-driven spinoff set in 1960s Japan
• Silent Hill: Ascension, an immersive project
• Return to Silent Hill, a new movie adaptation of Silent Hill 2

Since then, the Silent Hill 2 Remake received a new trailer in January 2024, though no release date has been confirmed. Silent Hill: Ascension was released in 2023, but it did not meet fan expectations as the “triumphant return to Silent Hill.”

Updates on Return to Silent Hill

The new film, Return to Silent Hill, is directed by Christophe Gans, who also directed the original Silent Hill movie in 2006. The film is an adaptation of Silent Hill 2 and will feature characters like Pyramid Head. The plot follows James (Jeremy Irvine), who returns to Silent Hill after receiving a mysterious letter from his lost love (Hannah Emily Anderson), only to find the town consumed by unknown evil and terrifying figures.
