Ubisoft Prevents Thousands of Cheating Players with Its New Mysterious Technology.
Ubisoft has recently been focused on developing innovative anti-cheating systems. In a recent community update for Rainbow Six Siege, the studio shared details about the performance of their latest two anti-cheat systems. The company reported that their “MouseTrap” technology, designed to combat mouse and keyboard cheats on consoles, and another mysterious feature known as “QB,” have been highly effective in eliminating cheaters.
The groundbreaking MouseTrap system has resulted in a significant 78% decrease in reports related to the use of mouse and keyboard on consoles. While the exact number of console players utilizing this technique is unknown, the issue has been widely reported and complained about for years.

However, the real breakthrough lies in Ubisoft’s secretive anti-cheat application called QB. Very little is known about QB, but the company describes it as a PC-specific feature aimed at making cheat development “more tedious.” The exact workings of QB remain a mystery, but there is a solid theory.
During the time when QB was active online last year, players noticed that the Steam version of Rainbow Six Siege would receive small updates every few hours that seemingly made no changes to the game itself. Ubisoft is likely making minor modifications to the game’s .exe file multiple times a day, causing cheat systems to constantly be incompatible. As a result, cheat developers have to continually update their software, which can be a hassle and deter them from bothering with it.
In their statement, Ubisoft mentioned, “We have already seen fantastic results from this system [QB], contributing to the banning of over 10,000 cheaters, and we are just getting started! Additionally, we have learned that several cheat providers have stopped creating cheats for Siege since the introduction of this feature, and we have received numerous positive feedback from our community regarding their in-game experiences since its implementation.”
Ubisoft’s continuous efforts to combat cheaters demonstrate their commitment to fair play and ensuring an enjoyable gaming experience for their community.
