Dexerto recently had a hands-off preview of the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remastered, showcasing over 17 minutes of new gameplay footage. The remastered offers a complete overhaul of the original game, featuring improved graphics, combat, and added features, and is expected to be a worthy upgrade for fans of the franchise. The preview showed Leon exploring the area near the lake, attacking the castle with Ashley, and taking part in an updated fight with Jack Krauser.

The combat looked smooth, responsive, and improved in small ways, with some new additions like the parry ability, which lets Leon use his knife to knock back enemies and briefly disorientate them. The ability to move around while aiming and assign weapons to shortcuts on the D-Pad, which are second nature in modern games, also makes an appearance in the remastered. Even with the more action-oriented scenarios, the remastered still feels terrifying, thanks to the huge visual overhaul it has received, with more lifelike enemies and environments that feel more claustrophobic.

The remastered also features new side quests initiated by picking up blue flyers located throughout the game, and no more QTEs (Quick-Time Events). Overall, the Resident Evil 4 Remastered is shaping up to be a must-play for horror and action fans alike.
