Microsoft has confirmed that it has ended its popular $1 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass trial offer. The offer, which allowed new members to sign up for a month of gaming for just $1 before jumping to the standard $14.99 membership fee, was a popular way for players to test out the service. Microsoft has stated that it is now evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future.
At present, there are no discount plans available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, with a yearly subscription costing the same whether paid monthly or annually. Microsoft is currently developing a Friends & Family plan for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, although it is not yet known when this will be rolled out in the US or UK markets. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers access to a range of games on both console and PC, as well as Xbox Live Gold for online multiplayer and EA Play for access to a number of EA games.
The end of the $1 trial offer has disappointed some gamers, but Microsoft is likely to continue offering attractive promotions to entice new members to its gaming service.
