Qualcomm Introduces New Technology: All Games Will Run at 4K 60fps!
Qualcomm has introduced a new resolution enhancement technology for mobile and mixed reality games called Snapdragon Game Super Resolution. Qualcomm Snapdragon GSR aims to maximize mobile game performance and battery life. Qualcomm’s new technology will not be limited to phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors, but will also bring improvements to Android phones with older processors.

Qualcomm Snapdragon GSR is a set of software technologies optimized for mobile games. It improves colors and contrast for a more immersive visual experience while reducing FPS drops and stuttering during gameplay. The platform also supports variable rate shading (VRS) technology, which enables more efficient use of GPU resources.
According to Qualcomm, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution uses a new technique to increase resolution, frame rate, and battery life. It is described as a single-pass spatial resolution enhancement technique optimized for Snapdragon Adreno GPUs. The single-pass system reduces memory usage, bandwidth, latency, and battery usage.
Qualcomm says its new technology will increase resolution and frame rate in Android games. Supported mobile games will be able to increase resolution from 1080p to 4K and frame rate from 30fps to 60fps and beyond. Qualcomm claims that GSR provides a 2x performance boost compared to other mobile resolution enhancement solutions.
Qualcomm is collaborating with several game studios for its new technology. Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, Jade Dynasty: New Fantasy, Return to Empire, Justice Mobile, Naraka Mobile, and Farming Simulator 23 Mobile are among the initially announced games. Qualcomm GSR will be available for use later this year.
