Telltale Games has announced that The Wolf Among Us 2 release date has been delayed until 2024, instead of its initial 2023 launch. In a statement on Twitter, the company cited the difficulty of the decision, but emphasized their determination to tell the ongoing story of Bigby and the rest of the Fabletown gang.

To ensure that the game meets fans’ expectations and to protect the health of their team, Telltale wants to take the time needed to make The Wolf Among Us 2 the best it can be. The CEO of Telltale, Jamie Ottilie, explained that switching the game from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 added extra work to the team, and the studio is committed to delivering the sequel fans deserve.

Ottilie also expressed his desire to avoid causing burnout among employees, which can negatively impact both the team and the game’s quality. He explained that rushing the release of the game would not only result in subpar quality, but also risk “getting torn to shreds” by disappointed fans.

When The Wolf Among Us 2 is finally released in 2024, it will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
