At the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to Xbox consoles in Spring 2024.

Producer and director Naoki Yoshida made the announcement during the event, with Microsoft’s Phil Spencer joining him on stage. The game will be released on Xbox Series X|S with 4K support but will not have an Xbox One version. The Xbox Series X|S version will feature faster loading times and will be available exclusively in digital format.

During the planned 6.5x patch, there will also be an open beta coming early next year. However, there was no mention of it being added to Xbox Game Pass at this time.

In addition to the Xbox news, Square Enix also revealed the next expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, called Dawntrail, which is set to be released in Summer 2024. Furthermore, a collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys was announced, with Fall Guys receiving Warrior of Light costumes on August 22, and FFXIV getting a new mini-game.
