Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that a PlayStation Showcase event will be held on May 24. The event is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. According to PlayStation, the show will last over an hour and will primarily focus on games in development for PS5 and PS VR2 from top studios worldwide. Attendees can expect to catch a glimpse of new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as captivating games from third-party partners and indie developers.

While Sony hasn’t provided further details about the showcase, there are several anticipated titles that could be showcased, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Naughty Dog’s upcoming multiplayer game for The Last of Us. Additionally, there may be unexpected announcements and surprises during the event.

Rumors about the PlayStation Showcase have been circulating for months. In February, reporter Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb, a GameSpot sister site, mentioned that a significant PlayStation event would take place before June, originally planned to coincide with E3 2023. Although E3 has been canceled, summer gaming events such as this showcase will proceed as planned.
