The PlayStation Showcase event featured trailers of many exciting new games. However, the highlight of the event, presented to the delight of gamers at the closing, was Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Developed by Insomniac and serving as a sequel to the 2018 title Marvel’s Spider-Man, a 12-minute gameplay video from the upcoming game was shared.

The video gives us a glimpse into various aspects of the game, from the characters involved to the combat mechanics. Popular characters like Kraven and Lizard make appearances, and we also see that we can switch between playing as Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

In the gameplay trailer of the game, which takes place shortly after the Miles Morales-focused game, the most attention-grabbing aspect is seeing Peter Parker wearing Spider-Man’s black symbiote suit. This is the otherworldly life form also seen in Venom, one of the character’s greatest foes. As evident from the footage, when Peter dons the suit, he becomes stronger and significantly more aggressive. This suggests that we might even witness a clash between Miles and Peter. Although not shown in the trailer, it’s worth noting that Venom will be featured in the game. No definite release date has been announced for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, Sony states that the game will arrive in the fall months.
