Producer of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Drops Hint About Part 3 Release

The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania, freshly unveiled, offers the first glimpse into when fans can anticipate the release of Part 3 in the FF7 Remake trilogy.

In a discussion featured in the Ultimania, Yoshinori Kitase, a Square Enix executive and the original director of Final Fantasy 7, shed light on the development timeline of Rebirth. According to a translation shared on Twitter by aitaikimochi, Kitase revealed that Rebirth was completed “within 3 years” after the team spent a year on DLC for FF7 Remake. Kitase expressed his hope to maintain a similar schedule for Part 3.

Considering the previous release timelines, if Part 3 follows suit, fans can expect it to arrive sometime in early 2027 at the earliest, or 2028 if it includes DLC akin to Intermission in FF7 Remake. Kitase also attributed the smooth development process of Rebirth to staff retention and confirmed that the same team would work on Part 3.

Additionally, Tetsuya Nomura, the director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and creative director of Rebirth, mentioned in the Ultimania that the main story of Part 3 is complete, and voice recording could commence “in the near future.”
