Preloading for the highly anticipated game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, has begun on the Nintendo Switch. The file size has been reduced to approximately 16.2GB (down 2GB from earlier listings), making it a relatively quick installation depending on your internet speed.

Although you can preload the digital copy now, the official release date for Tears of the Kingdom is Thursday, May 11, starting at 9 PM PT or 12 AM ET on May 12. So, while you can get everything set up, you’ll have to wait until the designated release time to start playing.

Preorders for Tears of the Kingdom are currently available, with standard editions priced at $70. Notably, this is the first Nintendo-published game on the Switch to surpass the previously established “standard” price, costing $10 more. Additionally, a Collector’s Edition priced at $130 is also available for avid fans.
