The FC 24 glitch allows a player to perform a skill move that miraculously sticks the ball to the back of their leg, enabling them to run directly to the goal, disregarding their opponents. In the face of this clear exploit, opponents are left helpless.

The source of the glitch is not clear, but it is widespread enough to affect competitive multiplayer games. In the Division Rivals mode that affects player rankings and rewards in Ultimate Team, players have used social media to share clips of this game-breaking maneuver.

This glitch, referred to as “calf dribbling,” has been considered by some as rendering the game unplayable. Players are contributing to the increase in its use to gain an unfair advantage by sharing videos of this exploit.

EA Sports is actively investigating the issue and acknowledges that the ball can incorrectly stick to a player’s leg in specific situations. As of now, no fix has been implemented, and reports suggest that this exploitation has caused damage in the competitive Weekend League mode, where players compete in 20 matches to determine their rewards.

Despite the recent release of the third major update for FC 24, addressing over 100 issues and bringing various gameplay, audio, and visual changes, as you can see, there are still shortcomings.

While Ultimate Team enthusiasts may be the only demographic group potentially satisfied, the expected significant improvements have not been seen in the rest of the game. The game appears somewhat neglected as it departs from the FIFA license.

Known for its successful graphic modifications, Halk Hogan announced and released the Starfield HD Reworked Project two weeks later. Like in the HD projects of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, this mod overhauls the game’s texture structures, enabling a much more impressive visual presentation. Hogan stated that visual mod should run on video cards with 6GB of VRAM or more without causing any performance drops. The 1.0 version of HD Reworked Project focuses on various environmental textures in cities, NPC characters, and fire effects, but future versions will also focus on other textures and effects.

The mod, which has a size of 600MB, has not been released in .ba2 format yet, but Hogan mentioned that this format will be released later. You can see the changes in the first version of the Starfield HD Reworked Project mod in the video below.

New Zealand approves Activision Blizzard deal

As you may know, Microsoft’s deal with Activision Blizzard has stirred both excitement and concerns in the gaming world. Sony, for instance, expressed significant worries about the impact on Playstation’s presence with games like Call of Duty, and various regulatory bodies raised objections to the deal. However, today, the New Zealand Commerce Commission has formally approved Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. This brings the total number of countries where the deal has been approved to 42, following Turkey and New Zealand.

Earlier, New Zealand had voiced some concerns about the deal. Nevertheless, it appears that these concerns have been addressed. In a press release accompanying the announcement, Commission Chairman Dr. John Small stated:

“While Activision games, especially Call of Duty, are popular among New Zealand gamers, our research revealed that Call of Duty does not hold critical importance for competing with Microsoft.”

Regarding the matter, Microsoft’s Vice President and President Brad Smith said, “With the approval received today from New Zealand, we now have the authority to proceed with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 41 countries. We will continue to work to address any remaining concerns and finalize this agreement.”

Currently, the only hurdle in Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard is the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom. The CMA had previously made a decision to block the deal, but after the U.S. court’s decision left the UK in opposition, the institution announced that it would reconsider the acquisition. The CMA will complete its re-examination process on August 29th.

As mentioned above, Microsoft’s proposal to acquire Activision Blizzard is expected to conclude by October 18th. However, if the transaction is terminated after August 29th, Activision Blizzard would pay a termination fee of $3.5 billion, and if terminated after September 15th, the fee would be $4.5 billion. It’s important to note that this payment would only apply upon the deal’s closure.
