Recent reports suggest that the general outlines of the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will bear a resemblance to the iPhone 12 and iPhone X. Here are the latest leaked schematic images.

Previous leaks regarding the iPhone 16 hinted at changes in the camera and button layout. While the overall design language remains the same, the cross-camera layout is set to change. This means the rear camera sensors will align vertically, similar to the arrangement seen in the iPhone X and iPhone 12. The leaked schematic images appear to confirm this.

Analyzing the images, the iPhone 16’s camera module reveals two different sensors and a microphone. Additionally, there is a noticeable increase in the protrusion, possibly indicating the presence of larger sensors. The rest of the design closely resembles existing models, with some minor differences. For instance, the flash module is now positioned outside the camera island.

On the front, we observe that the notch is divided into two parts. However, this won’t be the case in the final design, as Apple will fill the gap between the Face ID sensors and the front camera. The frame includes the frequently mentioned action button. The capture button, on the other hand, is expected to be exclusive to the Pro models. Previous rumors suggested that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus might come with a LiDAR scanner, but the leaked images do not showcase this module.

It’s worth noting that the LiDAR scanner, found in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, captures depth details. The absence of this module in the iPhone 16 images suggests potential differences in the features offered by the upcoming model. As anticipation builds for the iPhone 16 release, these leaked schematics provide a sneak peek into Apple’s design decisions for its upcoming flagship devices.
