Pokemon GO has announced a new Community Day Classic edition for the month of July, featuring a highly popular Pokemon for Niantic’s game players.

Pokemon GO revealed the July Community Day Classic, highlighting Squirtle and bringing the first-generation starter back into the spotlight for the second time. Pokemon GO often organizes various exciting events, offering players the chance to collect items and sometimes catch a Pokemon that is available for a limited time.

One of the most popular events in Pokemon GO is the monthly Community Day, which shines a spotlight on a specific Pokemon and occasionally introduces its shiny variant. This year, players have witnessed the Chespin evolution line in its shiny form in Pokemon GO, and the same has happened with the Slowpoke and Fennekin lines. However, due to the time-limited nature of the event, some Pokemon GO players may miss the opportunity to participate in the Community Day and capture the featured Pokemon.

Pokemon GO has announced that the July Community Day Classic will take place on July 9th, from 14:00 to 17:00 local time. To celebrate Pokemon GO’s seventh anniversary, the event will feature Squirtle, also known as Pokemon No. 007. Squirtle previously celebrated Community Day back in 2018, during one of the event’s early editions.
Squirtle will appear more frequently in the wild during the event, and lucky players may encounter the Water-type Pokemon in its shiny form. Players who evolve Wartortle into Blastoise during or up to two hours after the event will receive a Blastoise that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
