It’s no secret that each Call of Duty game typically features a handful of classic map remakes. Modern Warfare 2 has already added a couple of classic environments to its multiplayer mode, such as Shipment and Shoothouse. However, fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of a few other classic maps, and it looks like they might finally get their wish in Season 3.

Infinity Ward has announced that a beloved map from the original Modern Warfare 2 will be returning for Season 3. FaZe Dirty, an expert on the game, recently got to play the new map, Pelayo’s Lighthouse, during a Season 3 playtest. In a YouTube video, he revealed that the map features a house straight from the Estate map in the 2009 game.

Estate is a medium-sized multiplayer map that takes place around a cabin on top of a hill in the woods. The action mostly occurs in and around the large house, and the map offers a unique layout that differs from the standard three-lane Call of Duty maps.

While it’s unclear if this is a full remake or just a part of the Estate map, fans are excited nonetheless. According to Dirty, Pelayo’s Lighthouse has “a couple of long lanes perfect for sniping,” and players can expect to have fun taking advantage of spawn traps on the new map.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 starts on April 12, and fans can’t wait to dive into the new content, including the much-anticipated classic map remake.
