In a recent announcement by Konami, a new Metal Gear Solid collection containing Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is set to arrive on PS4. Officially titled the “Metal Gear Solid Collection: Master Collection Vol. 1,” this collection with the somewhat weighty name had previously been announced for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.

The Master Collection represents faithful recreations of the original games, preserving some elements that might have aged. However, according to GamesRadar, they will come with a caveat about the decision to do so in order to “maintain the historical context of the game’s creation and the original vision of the creator.”

Additionally, Konami is working on a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 titled “Metal Gear Solid Delta.” The company confirmed to me in May that it would be reusing the original game’s voice lines without any changes.

In a post shared on the platform formerly known as Twitter, Konami mentioned that it had decided to release a PS4 version in response to “numerous requests from fans worldwide.” However, it was noted that this version would only be available as a “download” (also known as a digital version). The post did not indicate the release date for the PS4 version; for other platforms, the game is set to launch on October 24th.
