Riot Games’ upcoming MMO based on the League of Legends universe, set in Runeterra, is in uncertain waters after Executive Producer Greg Street announced his departure from the project. Street, who has been with Riot Games since 2014, is a seasoned veteran in game development with years of experience working on World of Warcraft, making him the perfect fit to lead Riot’s foray into the MMO market.

The League of Legends universe is expansive, with a wealth of regions and characters that players have been clamoring to see more of. Riot Forge was established to give other development teams a chance to tell new stories within the universe, with titles such as Ruined King: A League of Legends Story and Arcane showcasing its potential.

Despite being in development for years, the Runeterra MMO is still in early development, according to Marc Merrill, one of Riot Games’ co-founders. The departure of Street has raised questions about the future of the project, though Merrill has reassured fans that the game is in good hands.

Little is known about the League of Legends MMO, and its release date is unclear. However, fans can look forward to updates on the game as they become available.
