										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>AMD had previously announced that its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 3.0 technology, introduced last year, would provide frame interpolation similar to DLSS 3 technology. With preparations now complete, the red team has announced that Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) technology is accessible in more than 12 games.</p>
<p>The wait for FSR 3.0 is finally over, with the technology now available in two games: Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum. However, the most significant development is the availability of AMD Fluid Motion Frames technology. In this regard, AFMF, much like Nvidia&#8217;s Frame Generation technology, creates a new frame by looking at the images of previous frames.</p>

<p>Looking at the list of AFMF-supported games, it&#8217;s evident that the list is quite extensive. Among them, you&#8217;ll find many AAA titles such as Starfield, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and The Last of Us Part 1. It&#8217;s worth noting that these games currently do not have FSR 3.0 support. However, since Fluid Motion Frames is integrated exclusively with Radeon graphics drivers, third-party hardware has been bypassed.</p>
<p>AFMF is only compatible with the Radeon RX 7000 series (Radeon RX 7900/7800/7700/7600 series). Therefore, support is not provided for older generation graphics cards. However, it&#8217;s worth mentioning that Phoenix APUs, commonly used in handheld consoles, are included in this list. Here is the list of AFMF-supported games:</p>

<p>Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger held a Q&amp;A session with the press at Innovation 2023. In response to a question about whether Intel would adopt a 3D cache approach similar to AMD&#8217;s 3D V-Cache processors, Gelsinger confirmed that Intel would be using a stacked cache approach paired with the CPU die, albeit with a slightly different approach.</p>
<p>To clarify from the outset, stacked cache or 3D V-Cache technology won&#8217;t be coming with the Meteor Lake processors. Intel will start implementing this method in later processors. Intel will also offer its own stacked cache technology to customers. Intel&#8217;s adoption of such technology makes sense since the hybrid stacking technology behind 3D V-Cache is not exclusive to AMD and is provided by TSMC&#8217;s SoIC packaging technology.</p>
<p>However, as Gelsinger stated, Intel will take a different path: &#8220;But in our roadmap, you will see this concept of having cache in a 3D silicon in a single package, right? And then we will stack a CPU die on top of that.&#8221; This appears to differ from AMD&#8217;s use of chip stacking technology to place additional memory on top of CPU dies. According to Gelsinger, Intel wants to do the opposite and stack the CPU on top of the memory.</p>

<p>Stacked cache has proven to be a strategic advantage for AMD, powering its Ryzen X3D CPUs, which are among the world&#8217;s fastest gaming processors. It is also positioned as a strong value-add for X-series EPYC processors like Genoa-X. It appears that Intel will be entering this arena in the coming years as well. Here, Intel&#8217;s EMIB and Foveros technologies will play a significant role. Although Intel&#8217;s CEO didn&#8217;t go into much detail, he mentioned that the company plans to vertically interconnect chip dies using EMIB and Foveros processes, allowing silicon to communicate together in a single package. The first step in this direction will be with the Core Ultra processors under the codename Meteor Lake.</p>

However, recent information suggests that Intel is planning to introduce a dual-core processor named &#8220;Intel 300.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dual-core Intel 300 on the horizon Firstly, the name &#8220;Intel 300&#8221; doesn&#8217;t align with any of Intel&#8217;s existing nomenclature. This processor is likely an upgraded version of the Pentium Gold G7400, which remains untouched in the company&#8217;s 13th Generation Core series. The processor is rumored to feature a configuration with 2 cores and 4 threads. Both of these cores are expected to be P-Core, Intel&#8217;s performance-focused cores currently used in their processors.</p>

With a high-end custom water-cooling setup and low coolant temperatures of 10 degrees Celsius, the modified RX 7900 XTX achieved remarkable performance, reaching RTX 4090 levels in 3DMark with an impressive clock speed of 3.33GHz. However, this achievement came at a cost, as the card had to consume nearly 700W to reach such high performance.</p>
<p>The performance achieved by this modified RX 7900 XTX demonstrates its capabilities in new territory. In 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, the GPU scored an impressive 18,335 points, surpassing the results of some RTX 4090 cards. For comparison, PCGamer&#8217;s RTX 4090 review recorded a GPU index score of 16,654 points, making Jedi95&#8217;s RX 7900 XTX benchmark result 10% faster.</p>

<p>Power throttling is a common occurrence on AMD&#8217;s RX 7900-series cards, as most games tend to reach the maximum power rating, causing the GPU to throttle or not reach peak clock speeds. This differs from Nvidia&#8217;s RTX 40-series GPUs, which often operate below their maximum power consumption figures during gaming.</p>
<p>Jedi95&#8217;s modified RX 7900 XTX also matched the best benchmark results of the stock RX 7900 XTX in the 3DMark browser, competing with GPUs that were likely cooled with liquid nitrogen.</p>
<p>The modification employed by Jedi95 was a &#8220;shunt-like&#8221; mod that tricked the VRM controller into reporting false power consumption figures to the GPU, bypassing AMD&#8217;s power limitations. This allowed the GPU to operate without any power restrictions, as it remained unaware of its actual power consumption. Jedi95 mentioned that this mod was superior to traditional shunt mods since power reporting could be controlled through software.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not surprising that pushing voltage and frequency limits, along with improved cooling, can result in stable performance. However, power consumption scales with frequency and voltage squared, leading to extreme power usage, as demonstrated in this case.</p>

<p>AMD says its Zen 4 architecture provides 13% IPC gains. To give this figure, the company made the measurements by taking a geometric average of a wide variety of workloads, including gaming. However, IPC gains are more effective in games in general.</p>

<p>By enabling AVX-512 instruction set support, AMD provided several advantages over Alder Lake processors. The Red team also claims that it provides better power efficiency in a much smaller package than Intel&#8217;s Alder Lake processors. At 3.84mm2, the Zen 4 core is almost half the size of Intel&#8217;s Golden Cove core. However, it is emphasized that 47% more power efficiency is achieved.</p>

<p>We suppose everybody knows that when AMD will announce the Ryzen 7000 ‘’Zen 4’’ desktop CPU series and AM5 mainboard platform. According to the official NDA, AMD has announced that they will be holding an event between August 23 and 28. Additionally, AMD plans to make a statement regarding all the details of the Ryzen 7000 at 8 PM ET on August 29.</p>
<p>According to the information we have, AMD will focus on the features and prices of the Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” series later this month. Furthermore, AMD will allow mainboard manufacturers to reveal their pre-sale prices. Hence, this event seems to host some kind of product announcement event. However, although the event will take place on August 29, Ryzen 7000 CPUs will not be available for purchasing until two weeks later.</p>
<p>The embargo on AMD Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs and X670 motherboard reviews will be removed two weeks later, on September 13. A full retail launching will then be made for the aforementioned products on September 15.</p>
