Dimensity 7200 Ultra Unveiled

According to the official announcement made today, MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra is based on the same 4nm fabrication process as its predecessor, the Dimensity 7200. The processor is powered by two 2.8GHz Cortex A715 cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex A510 efficiency cores, with the addition of a Mali-G610 GPU. Additionally, MediaTek has opted for both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM support.

Intensifying competition in the mid-range

In addition to these features, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra brings standard features such as 5G support, GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and dual 5G standby. When it comes to imaging capabilities, it offers support for 4K30FPS video recording, 200 MP resolution, and Full HD+ displays up to 144Hz. Furthermore, it includes HyperEngine 5.0 gaming engine for variable processing, intelligent control, and more.

Other features of the processor include the fifth-generation MediaTek APU 650 for AI processing, 14-bit HDR image processing thanks to Imagiq 765 ISP, encoding support for HEVC and H.264 formats, and compatibility with AV1 and VP-9 codecs. MediaTek has not disclosed which devices will be supported by the Dimensity 7200 Ultra. However, Xiaomi confirmed earlier today that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ model will be powered by the Dimensity 7200 Ultra. Smartphones equipped with a 200MP camera sensor are expected to hit the market later this month.
