A new glitch in EA Games’ renamed FIFA game, FC 24, has been infuriating players. EA has announced that they are working on it.

The FIFA series from EA Sports has long been plagued by fun yet frustrating glitches that often lead to comical physics mishaps among players. However, the latest glitch spreading in FC 24 is probably the most problematic one to date.

The FC 24 glitch allows a player to perform a skill move that miraculously sticks the ball to the back of their leg, enabling them to run directly to the goal, disregarding their opponents. In the face of this clear exploit, opponents are left helpless.

The source of the glitch is not clear, but it is widespread enough to affect competitive multiplayer games. In the Division Rivals mode that affects player rankings and rewards in Ultimate Team, players have used social media to share clips of this game-breaking maneuver.

This glitch, referred to as “calf dribbling,” has been considered by some as rendering the game unplayable. Players are contributing to the increase in its use to gain an unfair advantage by sharing videos of this exploit.

EA Sports is actively investigating the issue and acknowledges that the ball can incorrectly stick to a player’s leg in specific situations. As of now, no fix has been implemented, and reports suggest that this exploitation has caused damage in the competitive Weekend League mode, where players compete in 20 matches to determine their rewards.

Despite the recent release of the third major update for FC 24, addressing over 100 issues and bringing various gameplay, audio, and visual changes, as you can see, there are still shortcomings.

While Ultimate Team enthusiasts may be the only demographic group potentially satisfied, the expected significant improvements have not been seen in the rest of the game. The game appears somewhat neglected as it departs from the FIFA license.

Despite past similar issues, EA has refrained from postponing the Weekend League and has left players to deal with the calf dribbling exploit while chasing victories.
