Diablo IV Gets Spooky Season

Did you drop off Diablo IV after its first season, Season of the Malignant, began towards the end of July? You’re not alone. But Blizzard has already announced the completion of the second season, Season of Blood, filled with vampires, including new tasks, items, bosses, and even a new character named Aeris voiced by Gemma Chan. It’s set to release on October 17th. Someone really needs to tell Blizzard that spooky season starts a month earlier.

Big Changes with Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

CD Projekt Red showcased a new trailer for the major Cyberpunk 2077 expansion at Opening Night Live. The footage features the revamped perk system and things like new vehicles coming with the expansion pack. Some improvements will also come to the base game on current-gen consoles and PC as part of the 2.0 update. Phantom Liberty is planned to release on September 26th.

The developers of Genshin Impact’s recently launched game, Honkai: Star Rail, will be released on PS5 in the fourth quarter of 2023, and the “technical test recruitment” will begin tomorrow, August 23rd. Honkai: Star Rail is currently available on PC and mobile devices.

Sega is releasing a new Sonic Game (Sonic Frontiers on PS5) and apparently it supports either 4K resolution or 60 FPS, but not both, on Playstation 5. Sonic fans are very demanding and notorious. They expect a lot from the upcoming game. This is the newest major Sonic game afterall. Sonic Frontiers will be released on all major platforms. New Information on The Game

The Tokyo Game Show was very important for the fans. The event distributed huge news to the community. One attendee shared a converstation he had with a Sega official. He asked about the supported frame rate and resolution. We don’t know any details about the representative so, this is basically a rumour. We love to speculate and gossip though.

Twitter user tadanohi asked about PS5 version of the game. Apparently the PS5 version will include two different graphic modes. The first features 4k resolution, but only 30 FPS. The second offers 60 FPS but it limits the game to 1080p resolution. Recent games usually have better optimization. People also asked about PS4 and Nintendo Switch. PS4 and Switch will play the game in 1080p resolution at 30FPS. Sega can’t offer 60 FPS on consoles, apparently. Sonic Frontiers is a huge open-world game so this might be the real reason behind it.

Sonic games are very fun when they are fast and responsive. The character Sonic is known for it’s speed and responsiveness. Sega is releasing the game on six platforms so they might be having optimization issues. Fans demand smooth gameplay but they might need to sacrifice some resolution for that.
