It improves colors and contrast for a more immersive visual experience while reducing FPS drops and stuttering during gameplay. The platform also supports variable rate shading (VRS) technology, which enables more efficient use of GPU resources.

According to Qualcomm, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution uses a new technique to increase resolution, frame rate, and battery life. It is described as a single-pass spatial resolution enhancement technique optimized for Snapdragon Adreno GPUs. The single-pass system reduces memory usage, bandwidth, latency, and battery usage.

Qualcomm says its new technology will increase resolution and frame rate in Android games. Supported mobile games will be able to increase resolution from 1080p to 4K and frame rate from 30fps to 60fps and beyond. Qualcomm claims that GSR provides a 2x performance boost compared to other mobile resolution enhancement solutions.

Qualcomm is collaborating with several game studios for its new technology.
