In a new video shared over the weekend, Digital Foundry showcased how the game’s PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions can run at up to 300 frames per second in certain scenarios while emulated at the original resolution. Xena emulator runs at 720p.

Digital Foundry used a computer with 64GB of RAM, an Intel Core i9 12900K processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card to achieve such high frame rates. Of course, these frame rates weren’t consistently maintained throughout the entire game, as occasional drops were observed. At 1080p (with 2XMSAA enabled), the game generally achieved around 120 FPS, with a minimum of 90 FPS, while at 4K resolution (with 2XMSAA and 16XAF enabled), it achieved playable FPS levels but could drop to the 50s in crowded scenes.

Although achieving these frame rates may be out of reach for most systems, it is still possible to run the game at resolutions higher than the native 720p version with many visual enhancements on systems not supported by NVIDIA’s current flagship graphics, similar to what Digital Foundry accomplished on an NVIDIA RTX 4090.
