The device known as Project Q features an 8-inch HD screen and incorporates all the buttons found on Sony’s DualSense PS5 controller. Players will be able to enjoy PS5 games by either using Remote Play or connecting to the console’s local Wi-Fi network. However, it should be noted that Project Q requires a PS5 to function and is not compatible with any PS VR2 games. This device marks Sony’s return to the portable gaming arena, following the release of the PlayStation Portable in 2004 and the PS Vita in 2011.

Additionally, Sony announced its own PlayStation Earbuds, which will be compatible with both the PS5 and PC. The company claims that the earbuds will connect to smartphones via Bluetooth as well. Sony states that they will utilize new technology to deliver “low-latency lossless audio” with these earbuds. The video also shows the earbuds being stored in a case that resembles a charging case.

Sony has not provided further details about Project Q or the PlayStation Earbuds. As a result, pricing information for both products is currently unknown. Specific hardware features, such as battery life, also remain unclear. Sony states that both products will be available before the end of 2023.
