A New Game Comes to Atari 2600 After 33 Years The game, named “Mr. Run and Jump,” is a classic 2D platformer that revolves around Mr. Run and Jump and his faithful companion Dog Leap as they conquer the treacherous Void and collect all the jewels in the land. Interestingly, the game will also be available for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s worth noting that Atari’s last game for the Atari Video Computer System (VCS), also known as the Atari 2600, was developed back in 1990, making this new release a long-awaited arrival after 33 years. Furthermore, Atari has updated the cartridge design for the Atari 2600; it now features curved edges and gold-plated connectors. The price of the Atari cartridge has been set at $60, and it will be available for purchase on July 31st.

Atari has not revealed the exact release date for Mr. Run and Jump, but you can try out the game’s demo on Steam. It should be noted that the old VCS hardware may not support all the features present in the modern console/PC versions, so this version of the game may be slightly scaled down.
